Perdition Armaments (concept)
Perdition is one of the more popular and well-researched weapon enchantments, its origins tracing back to the ritual arts of the Halite Temple and its various offshoots. Originally exclusive to the sacred armaments of reliquary guards, knowledge of the spell and its use gradually spread among the layfolk in the aftermath of Otached’s invasion of Kashirya, relieved from the Temple as one of the many spoils of conquest.
Applied to the cutting edge of a weapon, Perdition causes any blood drawn by its blade to turn into salt, propagating deeper into the wound in proportion to the strength of the enchantment and inflicting a grievous injury upon the victim. Derided by many as needlessly cruel, the enchantment was most infamously used on an unprecedented scale in the Desiccation of Kazvosk, cast through the now-lost Halite Spear.
