Brigandine (culture)

The Brigandines are all that remains of the people of the western Greensea, where the trees are so dense one could go days without seeing the sun. Entire villages were twisted from the tree roots by Magi and the revered Scrivers carved entire runic histories into the impenitrable tapestry of wood. Communities were tight-knit and reclusive, children were raised communally and many people only ventured outside to pray.

They supplant their largely vegetarian diet with insects and honey and their magi are known equally for their ascetic wisdom and their dour and gloomy demeanor.
