Character: King Narses Helenos of Assocaea
Two years ago, the Legions marched north, hoping to smash the barbarian invaders upon the might of the Purest's children. And due to treachery and deceit, we were defeated. The petty warlords who have consumed the Empire of Humanity turned on me, turned on each other, and in fighting each other lost the war. As the barbarians set forth their dread Fog, our troops were consumed.
But here, two years later, the fight is not over. To the south, my subjects ignore my rightful authority in favor of their own petty ambitions, and from the north the Witch-Breaker's armies trample my lands to dust. And against this all, I stand, as the rightful ruler of this ruined empire, fighting a desperate last stand to save the realm I should have ruled.
