The Den va Seignons have ripped the realm shred to bloody shred. Are they blind? Greedy? Just stupid?
I stand upon the Ash Tower—highest peak of the Creusons—and before me I see nothing. Endless ash-turned wastes that have birthed nothing besides blight on our land, skeletons masquerading as kings dance about and bring devastation and ruins every generation.
When will the madness end? When will these fools see the stupidity of fighting for a crown when our realm is always in danger? I don't know the answers to these questions, but I know one thing. As long as I live, so shall I hold back the storm.
