The Eastern Legan (event)

Character: Legan Hecaeda

When Frodbrokna struck I was not yet born, but my predecessor and mentor, the great Legon Valerix, kept the Legion together.

Across the endless steppes of the east, over the brackish waves of the Almyr, through frozen Fog mountains, he gathered his legion and journeyed back home to aid in restoring order to Aversaria. He found a land in turmoil, and his heart was torn as he saw the blood his own people spilt on one another. A good man despite his bloody station, Valerix could not stand to see the injustice our people placed on one another. Worst for him, he could not stand to see the injustice they pushed on others. When I was born to one of his legionaries and an eastern whore, all would have expected me to have been left on the march or to have been relegated to the train, but Valerix saw not one's race or station, only promise.

Valerix is now dead, assassinated no doubt by the Aversarian nobility who were sick of his attempts at ending their cruelty. But they made a mistake, they did not kill his protégé. The men are behind me now, the eastern legion, those thought left behind. Today I will go to my men, I will swear to them on my blood to not rest, to not sleep, until Valerix is avenged and his work finished.

Aversaria is dead, but through fire and fury I will reforge it. We will make it stronger. We will make it better. We will end the evils our people have inflicted, we will throw down the Magi who have caused them, and we will bring forth a new age of prosperity. Of peace. Of equality.

Together, under the legion, we will make all wrongs right.
