The Exalted (event)
Character: Count Arderico of Assagra
To live at the end of days is a horrific concept to most. I, however, can only weep tears of joy that I rose from the sea in these times. The coasts of Aeras are dotted by villages of old men and widows, the watchtowers that protected them now empty. Great noble estates lie abandoned or unprotected, the families that once lived in them reduced to peasantry or snuffed out entirely. For those with the strength to take it, a dying world is a tree heavy with the fruits of treasure, women, and glory.
My fleet now embarks, our sails ready to be soaked in the blood of the weak. We have no gods, no prayers to make, none greater than ourselves to exalt. We care not how we are remembered, only that we live for ourselves and no other. What will my legacy be? Perhaps none. My name will not be written in the histories; it will be cursed by robbed lords and wailed by grieving widows. I hope only that the misery I brought will be matched with the joys it brought to me.
From the sea I rose, to it I will return.
