The last of the Magi-Engineers (event)

Character: Count Aghlab of Bihamaib

Here, it seems, is where the Eldest school of the Magi-Engineers dies. Relics from the age of the Sirhad, now living as fugitives in the mountains. It was not always so.

Though we refused to bend the knee, we dutifully serviced the remaining public magics of the great cities; the Great Aqueduct of Fithukion, the Grand Funicular of Shiqulin, the self-powered ferries on the Perafiyy River, these and more we maintained for the glory of the Agionist regime, though the indignity and shame of collaboration chafed at us always. For a time, our new rulers bent the knee to pragmatism. In the aftermath of the Faghira-Jalil Revolt, they forgot themselves. Those who survived the ensuing purge, such as myself, have been driven out of the Kharadamat lowlands by the piggish and ignorant Aversarians. A people so debased and uncivilized that they would put out their left eye to spite their right eye, allowing the wonders of the Age of Fire to crumble and die. But I will not die quietly. The idiotic Saint-worshippers will learn that magics which can raise aqueducts and redirect the rivers can shake strongholds to pieces and drown armies.

They will die screaming.

The earth shall swallow them all.
