The Priest and the Peasant (event)
Character: Cois 'the Chosen of the Purest'
I still remember the day I was found. When I was but a boy the priests arrived in the alley where I slept when I did not beg or steal, and a man in robes more resplendent than I had ever seen gripped me by the chin and declared that I was to be Aautokratir.
When I was young and given all of the trappings one would expect I thought myself the luckiest child in the world. Perhaps I still am. But now that I've grown older, the bars of my cell have become far more clear. I may be a King, but I am only one at the behest of Rhesus, a prop for him to use to consolidate his own power as the so-called 'Ypsilónis'.
Maybe I should accept my lot and enjoy the luxuries I've been offered, or maybe... maybe I should look back unto the streets that I was born. Look upon the cruelty Rhesus sees as righteous. Maybe it is time I became a King in more than name...
A golden cell is still a prison.
