Weathering the Storm (event)
Character: Count Hierotheos Morgeuthernis of Harvestway
For eight hundred years, my family has controlled the crossing of Morgeutherna, and in that time, rarely has anyone passed through our territory without providing something of value in return. Many have tried to pry it from our hands, to be sure, but Marcher, Kartharaddi, my 'kin' in Aversaria, and now the Sjalvolki alike have all failed.
Several years ago, we were approached by one of the so-called 'High King's' underlings, who sought passage through our lands to join the confrontation at Ten Trees. We were all too happy to extend our generosity and grant free passage to these strangers - provided that we are left alone should they win, and never mentioned again if they lose, of course.
Now, Ten Trees is over, and Kalathipsomi seems to have found itself new overlords. A pity that we might have to replace the chalice on our emblem with a pelt and club — or whatever these northerners use as their sigils — but still, at least we've fared better than our neighbors. Much better indeed, considering the fact that many of their former lands have now also found themselves under our custodianship.
We shall persevere, as always.
