What few remnants of the aversarian legions survived the migrations into the Coast would learn many hard lessons from the northerners. Aversarian mercenaries in the Rite Wars adopted chain much more readily than their ancestors, and without the Magi they once served, began to focus on flexible formations and fast-moving infantry.
