Reef Mining (innovation)
The legendary Crystal Reefs crisscrossing like spiderwebs across the Isles, the great living crystals growing from them being a massive interest to Magi and considered the finest gems for the holding of magical enchantments. Despite this, the lack of infastructure on the isles, their remote nature from the rest of Aeras, and constant fighting means the area has languished. Worst of all, the Crystal Reefs themselves prove an endless danger. While a boon to local commerce, the Crystalline Wisps they spawn have destroyed entire fleets, as do the ever spawning Velian Diamonds, great golems of pure crystal that sometimes march from the sea and lay waste to the surface, seemingly in some form of inhuman trance.
