The Sarminian people have radically changed since they first set foot in the lands once known as the Aautokrata over a century ago. Most clans have transitioned to settled agriculture, abandoning the ways of life their foremothers practiced for centuries on the almost forgotten steppe. But not all has been lost to time. Horse rearing is still cherished by all classes of society, and the warrior lodges of old have survived, if in a distinctly different and more hierarchical form. The newfound access to good iron and Aversarian metalworking techniques have radically transformed the Sarminian way of war, with the old reliance on light cavalry and horseback archers being phased out in favor of heavy shock cavalry.
