The Fields of Pearls and Pits Full of Gold (artifact)

Mas'en Malik was a prolific author who lived during the golden age of Ritualist rule over Sarradon. This eclectic thirty five volume work is his most well known and widely read. While the series purports itself to be a history, Mas'en Malik's unorthodox style leads to a work full of fanciful stories, surprisingly accurate historical accounts, a treasure trove of classic Southern poetry, and dozens—perhaps hundreds—of Dead Magic rituals hidden in coded language throughout the book. Naturally, faithfully copied versions of this work are quite valuable. Oddly Mas'en Malik was not known to have been a magi himself. Leading theories are that the anonymous 'benefactor' he thanks at several points in the writing may have been behind the intricate cypher that is still being unlocked almost a thousand years later.
