Advances in glassmaking and the growth of the artisanal guilds have transformed the way Ysandic glassmakers operate, for the craft was no longer the domain of individual masters passing secret techniques to their apprentices, but rather an open field of grand manufactories and certified professionals competing against each other for attestation grades and licenses. The Glassworks have expanded accordingly and now span several districts, with many of their inhabitants having little reason to leave for years at a time.
