Tusuffna (concept)
Tusuffna were originally religious brother- and sisterhoods of like-minded, chivalrous Wardenite youths. While often guided by noble ideals, they were frequently hindered by a lack of proper organization, leading to brutal and disorderly inter-tusuffna conflicts. In the heartlands of Wardenism, they are seen either as exemplary young men or as a nuisance, but they hold little political significance.
Meanwhile, on the fringes of Wardenism, various heterodox mystic orders emerged and attracted a following among the significant number of tusuffna, becoming intertwined with them. Over time, the term 'tusuffna' has been used to refer to both mystics and gangs of impressionable youth. Whenever such partnerships have formed, tusuffnas have transformed into influential political actors. The most politically successful among them have often entrenched themselves in fringe regions, establishing a semi-hereditary hierarchy of quasi-nobility.
