Auzangeb (culture)

The Auzangeb arrived in Sarradon in the late 3rd century, crossing the Sea of Empires along with the rest of those now named Ayyar. When the fleet was split apart by a great storm, the Auzangeb continued on their course, and sailed perhaps the furthest of any Ayyar group. When they finally made landfall, they had left even Sihnamiyah behind.

They had arrived in 'Erd Lakhdir, on the doorstep of mighty Kemsar. In this new land, they became nomads, wandering in caravans and encampments across the land, gradually abandoning the trappings of their fallen civilization. Embracing this new existence, they lived in a perpetual limbo, sometimes mercenaries working for a group, sometimes their hated enemies. However, driven by the dangerous existence within a land forever divided, they grew to prize their communities, their ceremonies, and their possessions, merging the three into a societal ideal

Beginning as a small celebration upon the return of a trader or mercenary to their caravan, the Auzangeb now host regular parties and celebrations, to which all, from the mightiest noble to the lowliest peasant, are invited. They enjoy a well-earned reputation as a people of spendor, for to them, the greatest show of virtue is not the feat of victory, but the display of the spoils.
