Tasurmad (culture)

The Tasurmad are the people of the Bay of Sihnamiyah, frequently regarded as a region of Aeras with one of the longest records of settled, urban civilization. Starting from the legendary Hundred Cities that dotted the land starting some four thousand years ago, the area would come to be the birthplace of no less than four major empires over the next two millennia. With the collapse of the Arakkariac Empire in the 4th century BI, the local denizens would gradually come under the increasing sway of Ritualism, which would bring them into the growing sphere of pan-Sarradonian culture.

Owing to the fertile soil and pleasant climate of their homeland, they are rarely forced to endure a bad harvest, and their nobility is used to the kind of extravagant displays that would find themselves at home in Opakhasia or Sereksi. However, this decadence should not be confused for softness, as the Tasurmad have been more than capable of holding their own in the countless cycles of wars of expansion and collapse in their long history.
