One Against the Storm (event)
Character: King Zenobios of Legio XXI 'Axiaothea'
Barbarians, the wretched hordes! They come south and only the Legion stands to stop them. Had Isacea not died Vilnian Assault then she'd have led us to glory in the name of Axiaothea until the Aautokratia returned like glorious and dread Maklea incarnate. Instead here I am, left with a Legion that should have died with its Legan... should have died with the true Aautokratia...
It has been many years since XXI was a proper Legion, not the shambling mess of conscripts and half-feral children raised under this broken moon that I have been left to command. Would Isacea fault my choices? She led the battered remnants of the Legion to fight the Aeschraeist dogs for years from the scarred mountains of Heavenly Noon to the very gates of Oraispol and tore down the wretched western hive all the same. And what have I done with the remnants of her force? What have I done after glorious Isacea saved our Legion from its inevitable doom and gave us the freedom to fight in the light once more?
Mercenaries for madmen and whores, half-human scum not worthy of the Bloodright. What was once the proudest Legion of Aversaria, 'The Aautokratir's Own' itself, reduced to a glorified border guard for a dead Governorate. We dance for naught but pennies offered to us by that inhuman, thin-blooded voidspawn, the vile bastard of an Aautokratir that fucks his way through Kasmiene while we ensure the northern rabble remain in their place. Little care is given to the fact that a barbarian horde has burst out of Malcois and now desecrates the few remaining cities of Askliraki as long as we keep more refugees from spilling southward or east into the degenerate's holdings.
The Legion is dying, for years now we have done naught but kill every wretched Malcoisiac coward who has decided to flee south instead of do their duty and fight for their home and Empire, and now we retreat in the face of creatures even less human and far more dangerous. If the Legion is to survive then it must find new direction, but first it must destroy its foes...
Only I can stop these wretched hordes.
