Foglands (concept)

The Foglands were once the vast, almost untamed wilderness of the contenintal interior. It's far reaching forests and vales were a sight to behold for any hunter, but no longer. Now a thick, whispering fog blankets the earth. Feral natives and dark creatures lurk through the mists, and any souls brave enough to travel into these haunting forests must be prepared for the fate that awaits them.
The Foglands are the remains of lands that have been consumed by the Fog. Much of them were once the northeastern colonies of Aversaria, but the Fog has since seemingly swept north, and many theorize it has long destroyed the far eastern realms of Kathun-Kai. The only Creatures remaining in the Fog are Fogeaters and Fogbeasts, and few have ever journeyed even close to Fogswept lands and returned.
While nobody knows its exact location, it is generally accepted that the Foglands contains The Rift, from which the Fog emerges.
